Our Name: Our name is LOVEshared which is taken from 1 John 3:1 and 1 John 4:11. Our name has a double meaning; 1) God shared His love with us, and 2) we ought to share that same love with one another – LOVEshared.
Vision Statement: LOVEshared exists to extend God’s love to those in need by creating an awareness of those needs and/or organizing opportunities for volunteers to donate of their time, resources, and/or talents.
Why we exist: When wanting to complete the work that Christ commissioned us to do with regard to the least of these, we often ask ourselves, what volunteer opportunities are out there for us? Our next question is do we have to volunteer alone? For this reason, several of us felt a calling to create an organization dedicated to creating events in our area wherein volunteers can come together and give of their time, resources and talents. Why? Because LOVE should be shared.
What we do: LOVEshared organizes various events wherein volunteers can donate their time, resources, and talents to benefit people in need both in the community and church body. Some events include helping nonprofit organizations already established in our area such as the Star of Hope, the Houston Food Bank, various children’s hospitals, and more. Other events will include helping the community and church members directly. We believe there is strength in numbers and there is no better fellowship between God’s children than the fellowship that unites us in serving the least of these.
We would like the opportunity to invite local churches, as well as neighbors, friends and coworkers to volunteer at these events if they choose to do so. Because we believe getting together with our sister churches, and our fellow man, for events such as these bring unity to the body. We hope that our local churches and pastors will encourage its members to volunteer in the work.
