Bags of Love (Winter Essentials)

It’s time to look through your closets and pull out all those old sweaters and jackets you don’t wear anymore because WE WANT THEM!

On Sunday, January 9, 2011, in Houston, TX, LOVEshared will be sponsoring another Bags of LOVE project.  We will be focussing on providing those in need with the essentials to make it through these cold winter months.  In addition, we are still going to provide them with the hygienic items needed to keep healthy.

We are calling on YOU to help!  Next time you’re out shopping for toothpast or mouthwash, buy a little extra and donate it to LOVEshared and help someone in need.  Or when you’re going through your closet and getting rid of those old sweaters and jackets, give them to us and help keep someone warm.

In addition to donating, we want you to come out and join us in spreading this LOVE around to those in need.  We will be meeting at the below address at 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 24, 2010, to sort and bag the items and spend the rest of the day around downtown Houston distributing them to the homeless population there:

Donations can be dropped off at the above address on that same day as well.  If you are unable to drop off your donations, please contact:

Below is a list of items we would like to see donated:

Our goal is to have 250 of each of the hygienic items on the list (travel size):

  • Toothpaste
  • Toothbrush
  • Mouthwash
  • Hand Sanitizer
  • Lip Balm

In addition, we also need as many of the following items as you can give:

  • Sweaters (all sizes)
  • Jackets (all sizes)
  • Gloves (all sizes)
  • Socks (all sizes)
  • Stocking Caps (all sizes)
  • Ear Warmers (all sizes)
  • Hand / Foot Warmer inserts
  • Scarves
  • Rain Ponchos (all sizes)
  • Stuffed Animals (for the kids)

Deadline for donations is Sunday, January 9, 2011 by 10:00 a.m.
